Gracie had a couple of "firsts" this week. She saw Kung Fu Panda with her cousins, Krystiana and Kaleb and Grandma. The loudness of the theater didn't seem to bug her. We think she liked the different colors on the screen. She also went to the swimming pool. She and Joe had lots of fun going down the lazy river. We drowned her in sunblock but her face still managed to get sunburned.
Joe is almost done with his finance class. Yipee! We are going to visit Janice's sister in July. We are excited to have a vacation!

McDonald's
We went out to lunch with Grandma Clayton, Krystiana and Kaleb. Gracie really wanted to take a bite of Joe's hamburger. It was fun to watch her reach for it with her mouth open. The video doesn't do it justice. If you look closely you can see Gracie's very sunburned arm. Janice is still upset that Gracie inherited her fair skin.
Grandma Betty's Funeral
Janice's grandmother was on hospice for a couple of weeks. She passed away the night of June 8th. The funeral was in California and she was buried in American Fork. Grandma has been sick for a long time. We are glad she is free of her ailing body and know she is hard at work on the other side.
Dad, Janet, Heidi, Aunt Nancy, Aunt Julie and Jennifer came to Utah for the burial. The day after the burial we went around temple square and drove up one of the canyons. Dad has been infamous for throwing rocks since he was a little boy. Thus we are throwing rocks on this video.
Memorial Day
Memorial Day morning was quite traumatic. Joe went to swallow an ibuprofen and it would not go up or down. He belched it down with the help of some nytroglycerin tablets in the emergency room. We still visited with family later on that day and of course Gracie had to try green beans. Joe had to have an endoscopy the next day. He has a condition called eosinophilic esophagitis. He's okay though and still doing everything he always does.
Big Girl Gracie
I'm (Janice) having fun being home with Gracie this summer. I don't entertain her as well as Kathy's three-year-old, Emily. Gracie has been playing a little bit with her cousins Krystiana and Kaleb. She is playing with Krystiana in one of the pictures above. Gracie has now moved to the crib. I suffered separation anxiety for about a week. Gracie was fine. Joe probably wishes that she was still in our room. I make him get up and check on her even though we have a monitor. We call Gracie "Spike" sometimes. She has got enough hair now to put in a pony tail on the top of her head. Her hair still stands up striaght when we take the rubber band out.
